Columbia has decided, and Theile McVey has been named one of the Legal Elite of the Midlands again in 2018. This is the eighth consecutive year that Theile has been given this honor by the legal community of our region.

The Midlands Legal Elite is an annual feature of the Columbia Business Monthly, listing the top area lawyers from 20 legal fields. Theile is included this year as a leading attorney in the personal injury category. The selection is a result of votes by other area attorneys – they are not allowed to vote for themselves. Theile’s inclusion to this elite group means that she is highly respected by her fellow attorneys in South Carolina, year after year.

This recognition is the latest in Theile’s long list of achievements. In 2018 so far, she has already been included in South Carolina’s Super Lawyers, a distinction she has also consistently achieved since 2013. This year also marks her election as member of the esteemed International Society of Barristers.

Prior to these distinctions, Theile has been voted President of the South Carolina Association for Justice. Before that, she served as their Secretary/Treasurer,  Vice President and President-Elect.  Her alma mater, the University of South Carolina School of Law, also honored her with their highest alumni distinction, the Gold Compleat Lawyer Award.

The attorney’s outstanding career is dedicated to representing only plaintiffs who have suffered in personal injury cases. Her work here at the Kassel McVey firm is focused on areas such as vehicle accidents, premises liability, product liability, nursing home abuse,  medical malpractice, and mesothelioma cases.

With her diligence and experience, Theile has obtained highly favorable results for our clients, including a $38-million verdict and another $14-million verdict in mesothelioma cases. She was also one of the lawyers who helped plaintiffs win in the asbestos case against Emerson Electric subsidiaries just last year.

Theile expresses her gratitude for her recent accolade from the Columbia legal community. Beyond the respect of her peers, what she values most in her work is the best interest of her clients, so she vows to continue working at Kassel McVey for the rights of South Carolinians.
