Elizabeth Moultrie is a life-long resident of South Carolina. She was born in the Upstate and moved to the Midlands as a teenager, living in a small town Southeast of Columbia.
Country life appeals to Elizabeth and she now lives in rural Lexington County with her husband, a high school Social Studies teacher, her two younger daughters, five dogs, four cats, a parrot, and a couple of fire-belly toads. Elizabeth’s eldest daughter is married with three children of her own.
Elizabeth attended the University of South Carolina and pulls for the Gamecocks! Having worked as a personal injury Paralegal for the bulk of her career, she brings over 20 years of experience to the firm.
In her leisure time, Elizabeth is enjoys sailing, reading, needle working, crafting, and cooking.
Amanda has been a member of the Kassel McVey team since 2011. She is our administrative legal assistant. Daily, she assists the attorneys, paralegals and our in‑house investigator with multiple tasks.
Native to South Carolina, she and her husband have two children. She enjoys cheering on Clemson Tigers, fishing and camping at the lake. She completed her studies in CNA, EKG, Cardiac Care and Phlebotomy as part of the Patient Care Technician program at Midlands Technical College.
The training she received has been beneficial as she and her husband take care of their daughter who is a Type 1 Diabetic.
Her training has also provided the firm with significant information in handling personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home injury and neglect, and wrongful death lawsuits. Since joining our team, she has proven to be a vital asset.
James B. Work
Jim retired from the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism 14 years ago where he worked as Director of Maintenance and In-House Construction.
His knowledge of equipment, facilities and trade practices learned in State Parks has eased the way for his second career with the Kassel McVey Law Firm. He works closely with the attorneys on product liability, personal injury, premises liability and construction cases.
Jim is our investigator and his work is crucial in laying a foundation of hard data about each case. He uses the internet to look for prior cases and information about companies and products. He takes photographs, videos of accident scenes, vehicles, and people. He conducts video interviews of clients and witnesses and edits them for mediation and court presentations. He provides the attorneys with the information they need to thoroughly analyze the merits of a case and implement the best legal strategy.
Jim has worked for the firm for 9 years and has grown with the job by learning new skills to include bookkeeping, video editing, courthouse filings, discussions about cases with the attorneys, He also maintains the office building by inspecting the facility and when needed, writing specifications and hiring contractors to keep it in excellent condition for the firm and its clients.
He works with other staff members when help is needed to keep the firm running smoothly and productively.
Stephanie Fanning is from Florida but was drawn to the Palmetto State and lives in Fairfield County with her husband, The Honorable Mike Fanning, a member of the South Carolina State Senate, District 17. Stephanie and Mike have a son, Markell, who is a student at Coastal Carolina University.
Stephanie joined the Kassel McVey team in January 2017 as a personal injury paralegal. She is a graduate of University of South Carolina, with a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and a graduate of York Technical College, with an Associate Degree in Business with a Specialization in Paralegal Studies.
She is a “people person” with a passion for fair treatment and justice for all. Stephanie is thrilled to be a part of a team working toward that goal. She is a loyal Gamecock supporter, and enjoys volunteering, reading, carnival cruising, playing tennis, and hanging out with family and friends.
Hannah Moultrie has joined the firm as a part-time assistant as part of her home school’s Work Experience and Career Exploration Program.
Hannah is a Senior and plans to graduate early to begin her journey toward a degree in medicine, with a specialization in psychiatry. She is also interested in pursuing a career in the law, and hopes to combine both interests into a successful career helping those who need it most. Hannah has proven to be a valuable asset to the firm, tracking down information from state agencies that the firm uses to successfully litigate cases.
Hannah plays guitar and sings, and enjoys entertaining her family with her talent. She is also an avid sailor. She is a U. S. Sailing Certified Sail Camp Counselor and a U.S. Sailing Certified Level One Instructor. She and her family own three sailboats of various sizes and Hannah works as a sailing instructor at Augusta Sailing Club during the Club’s Junior Sail Camp season.
